Nutanix G10 Nodes Coming Soon!

Streaking into the night like a digital F1 race car, the new Nutanix NX Nodes lineup has arrived.

Having worked with Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) since the Gen 6 Family—right after the end-of-life of Device Appliances for those who remember that consumption model—this marks my fourth generation refresh. With each iteration, I’ve come to expect a few consistent upgrades: more powerful CPUs, increased RAM capacity, greater storage density, and expanded GPU options. Let’s dive into what G10 brings to the table.

Life Cycle Updates

With every new model announcement, lifecycle dates for previous generations are typically released. Here’s a quick-reference table to help you assess the status of your existing NX infrastructure.

What’s New in G10

To save you from combing through dozens of spec sheets, here’s a concise breakdown of the key enhancements:

Next Generation Processors

Intel and AMD have introduced new families of processors:

  • Intel Xeon 6 (Granite Rapids-SP)
Intel has moved away from tiered SKUs (Platinum, Gold, Silver). Instead, the “P” designation (e.g., 6500P, 6700P) differentiates models. The 6700P offers higher core counts and consumes more power.
    • Up to 128 cores per node (64 cores x 2 sockets)
    • 20 Xeon 6 CPU options
  • AMD EPYC 9005 (Turin)
AMD’s single-socket processors also support up to 128 cores, with future models like the EPYC 9965 expected to reach 192 cores.
    • 14 AMD Turin CPU options

Memory and Storage

  • Memory Speed: Up to 6400 MHz
  • Storage:
    • NVMe: PCIe Gen 5, capacities of 3.84 / 7.68 / 15.36TB
    • HDD (LLF): 8TB–24TB
    • NVMe Storage Tier: 30.72 / 61.44TB

Networking

  • Speeds supported: 10G, 25G, 100G, 200G

Shipping Timeline

Initial G10 NX models begin shipping in October 2025. At the time of writing, lead times range from 26 to 66 days. These are expected to improve to under 25 business days as we move deeper into Q4. Additional model rollouts are planned for December 2025 and January 2026.

Honorable Mentions

While Nutanix NX nodes are white-labeled Supermicro hardware, similar updates and timelines are being rolled out across HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, DellEMC, Fujitsu, and others.

One standout innovation: Lenovo has introduced the first liquid-cooled nodes in their HX series of HCI platforms.

While not an exhaustive list of all changes and updates, this has hopefully given you an appi-teaser of what’s to come.
